Mounting on Roof Rack

The side awning is compatible with the ExRoof roof rack as well as with roof racks from other providers. A universal awning bracket is included in the scope of delivery, which can be seen in the product images. The screws can be moved horizontally as desired and precisely adjusted to your roof rack. A sketch of the included universal awning bracket can be found here. Mounting on roof racks with T-slots, which are mounted on the roof railing, is also possible. However, the T-bolts for this type of roof rack are not included in the scope of delivery. For mounting on a horntools ExRoof roof rack, we also offer an ExRoof awning bracket in our range, with which the awning is screwed both laterally and from above.

Do I need to tension the awning or is it freestanding?
It is completely freestanding – poles are not necessary. It is freestanding up to approx. 30 km/h wind; with the included support poles and guy ropes, it can withstand up to approx. 60 km/h.

Which roof racks is the awning compatible with?
A universal awning bracket is included in the scope of delivery. It is compatible with the horntools ExRoof roof rack as well as with racks from other providers; mounting on racks with T-slots is also possible (the T-bolts for this are not included).

How weather-resistant is the awning?
The fabric is made of 280 g/m² Poly-Cotton with UPF-50+ protection and a water column of 3,000 mm.

What sizes are available and how large is the covered area?
You have the choice between 2.0 m (6 m² area, approx. 18.75 kg) and 2.5 m (9.9 m² area, approx. 23 kg). When open, it is 4.9 m or 6.1 m long.

Is lighting integrated?
Yes, dimmable LED lighting is already integrated.

Can I extend the awning?
Yes. Matching side walls with mosquito net windows create additional protected space and can also be used individually as wind protection.
